Somewhere Between was born during a period in which I found myself suspended between two lives.
After leaving my profession to travel across East Asia, I spent months moving from one city to another,
searching not only for photographs, but also for a direction.
The further I travelled, the more familiar places became temporary, and the idea of home slowly shifted
from a physical place to an emotional condition.

In Osaka, my attention kept returning to the vending machines scattered throughout the city.
Standing alone in the darkness, they became quiet points of light that I instinctively photographed again and again.
Looking back, I realised I was not documenting the machines themselves, but projecting onto them my own state of mind.
Their silent presence became an invisible self-portrait: suspended between comfort and uncertainty, belonging and distance, light and darkness.

Somewhere Between is a reflection on the emotional space of being far from home,
when familiarity is no longer a place to return to, but something briefly found along the way.
